SUMMARY:6th Annual Residential Construction Career Day
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to be celebrating the 5th Annual Residential Construction Career Day which will be held on Wednesday October 6\,2022 at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds.\n\nResidential Construction Career Day (RCCD) provides students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to explore the construction industry through a series of interactive activities\, linking students with employers and STEM careers.\n\n\n\nStudents will have the opportunity to learn more about the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod's (HBRACC) Apprenticeship Program\, and STEM career paths within Engineering\, Advanced Manufacturing and Green Building.\n\n\n\nConstruction is one of the leading employment sectors within the region\, leading to full-time\, year-round\, self-sufficient employment. The construction industry is facing a severe shortage of talent\, making an event like RCCD critical in raising awareness to students and educators about the career pathway available to students within this sector.\n\n\n\nThe Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod and the MassHire   Cape & Islands Workforce Board will continue to work together to ensure that economic vitality of our region is sustained in part through the\n\ngrowth of this industry.\n\n\n\nAs we celebrate our 6th Anniversary of RCCD\, we are excited to announce several changes to the event\, which we feel will help enhance the overall experience. We feel strongly that this is not a day off for students\, but rather the opportunity to provide an alternative learning environment one in which focuses on career exploration.\n\n\n\nRCC Handbook for Students\, School Staff and Parents\n\n\n\nOpportunities for both Member & Non-Member Companies to participate in RCC Day.\n\n\n\n"Lunch with a Pro"\n\n\n	Looking for volunteers to sit with students at lunch\, to provide their "back story" and history on how they became involved in the Building Industry and The Trades. This will be an interactive experience for the students to involve Q&A. This will be a 40-minute time commitment. \n\n\nRCC Ambassador:\n\n\n	Looking for a volunteer to escort a group of students through our "Job Site". The goal is for students to better understand the planning and intricacies of building a home or structure. This will be a 2.5 hour time commitment with a meeting/ run through scheduled for October 5th at the Fairgrounds. \n\n\n\n\nExhibitors: Members $50.00/ Non-Members $100.00\n\n\n	Registration includes company to set up a ''live'' demonstration outside or to have a table-top display inside the marketplace. Includes lunch for primary participant and 3 additional participants. Company listing to be included in program handbook and materials.
