Location: Champ Homes, Inc., Hyannis, MA
Reports To: Executive Director or Program Director

About the Job:

Champ Homes is looking for a Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to take care of our buildings and property. For this job, you need to be a great team player. You must communicate well, get along with others, pay close attention to details, and stay organized.

This position requires 20-28 hours a week and compensation will range between $24-$28 an hour. A set schedule would be desirable, and we can be flexible for the right candidate.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Fix and maintain buildings: Take care of heating, cooling, plumbing, electricity, woodworking, yard work, and cleaning. If a job is too big or requires a special license, you will hire a professional to do it. 
  • Keep records: Take care of equipment on the property. Keep clear records of all repairs and safety inspections, and schedule inspections when needed. 
  • Manage vehicles: Make a schedule to keep company vehicles running smoothly. 
  • Handle work orders: Organize and run the system used to request repairs. 
  • Clean the facilities: Oversee and help with daily cleaning and care of the buildings. 
  • Manage outside workers: Supervise any hired contractors or repair people. 
  • Help volunteers: Lead groups of volunteers who come to help with cleaning, painting, and yard work. 
  • Be a team player: Bring a positive attitude to work with staff and volunteers. 
  • Manage keys: Keep track of all keys and hand them out to the right people. 
  • Inspect the property: Check the buildings regularly to find and fix any problems. 
  • Clear snow: Arrange for snow removal during the winter. 
  • Attend meetings: Come to staff meetings when required. 
  • Handle emergencies: Act as the main contact for building emergencies. This means you may sometimes need to briefly come in on evenings or weekends. 
Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (like a GED). 
  • A clean driver’s license. 
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Good communication, organizational, and people skills. 
  • Ability to work well with the director, staff, and volunteers. 
  • Self-motivated and ready to help where needed. 
  • Good skills with tools and hands-on repairs. 
  • Willingness to learn basic computer
